Today’s world is full of travel, both personal and professional in nature. We travel for the sole purpose of adventure, seeing things we’ve never seen and checking things off our proverbial bucket list. We travel for business trips and to seal the deal. We travel for relaxation and to temporarily leave behind the stressors of our everyday lives.
Oftentimes while traveling we find ourselves leading an unhealthy — or unhealthier — lifestyle. We are in closer contact with large groups of people and highly trafficked areas, something more prevalent in our thoughts during a worldwide pandemic. We also leave behind the comforts of home: our first aid cabinets, healthier diets, exercise regimens, even our favorite bath towel.

Healthy Traveling Gear
The pandemic of COVID-19 is still in full swing even two-thirds of a year after the deadly virus started spreading around the world. Travel has evolved into a different beast as doctors still struggle to learn the ins and outs of this contagious disease. Face masks are now commonplace, must-have accessories used to reduce the spread of this novel virus.
Face masks may be the most important of your healthy traveling gear now and going forward. The anti-microbial, copper-infused cloud mask fits the bill – it’s comfortable, stylish, and, believe it or not, healthy. While a face mask on its own is pivotal in reducing the spread and flattening the curve, it must be washed and cared for regularly.
Face Covering Health
Wearing the same cloth mask over and over without washing leads to a dangerous situation for the wearer. Cloth masks are ideal because you can reuse them – much more sustainable and environmentally friendly than their disposable counterparts. However, cloth masks can house bacteria and viruses which may lead to infection if not kept in check. The cloud mask features Nano Ionic Bonding Technology which creates an antimicrobial surface by bonding copper with the fabric. This reusable mask is also hand-washable – perfect for traveling! You can also use a purifying spray between wearings to keep it clean, fresh, and smelling fantastic.
Pack Smart
While planning for our trips, we’re now more consciously adding items to keep us healthy. We’ve changed the way we pack for a trip. A small bottle of sanitizer spray or gel tucked neatly in the front pocket of our messenger bag or daypack is now a requirement, whether we’re hiking trails or on the busy sidewalks of a bustling city. Pre-packaged travel kits now contain items such as face masks, travel sanitizer, and touch-free tools to open doors and push-buttons. Multi-vitamin packs, calming and fortifying essential oils and stress relievers, like a pack of playing cards or coloring book, also support a more balanced and calming voyage. Reusable straws with carrying cases now take precedence over other items as you can wash them and reuse without having someone hand you a plastic straw (bonus: they’re better for the earth anyway!).
Stay Safe
The pandemic has left us feeling exposed; many of us view traveling and going out much differently than before. We are aware of ourselves in different ways – many of us think twice about touching surfaces in public places when we aren’t able to wash our hands immediately. The gear we bring on our trips reflects our desire to remain healthy – and keep others healthy – while we travel. We may view traveling through different eyes even after the pandemic is under control.
Staying healthy while traveling is no longer about simply packing healthy snacks and our multivitamins, although these things still matter; it’s about trying to remain virus-free and stopping exposure for us and those around us. Packing for our trips reflects our desire to maintain our lifestyle while keeping our health in check. These small changes to our list of necessities have grown from a novel idea into everyday life. Is it possible to remain healthy while traveling? There is still too much to understand and discover. Fortunately, the gear we choose to bring may alleviate our risk.
